Would this be a fair and reasonable change? Would you like to play a Gunslinger like this? Would you allow this?
Proposed changes
Remove Weapon Focus (at 2nd-level) and Greater Weapon Focus (at 8th-level). Replace with "Marksmanship" instead.
Each time you gain Marksmanship, you choose a specific type of pistol. You gain a +1 bonus to hit and damage with this pistol. The choice stacks, so if you apply it to a pistol twice, you get +2 to hit and damage. Note that this does stack with Weapon Focus, assuming you spend a feat on it. It's almost like raising your BAB to full with the class, actually.
Hit point change: reduce to d8 per level.
